Get to Know Me.

My Story to Capturing Your Story.

Black and white head shot

How the hell did it start?

So where did it all begin for me? I would like to say that I was given a camera at a young age and I have been taking photos my whole life, but that’s just not the case. I got my first camera as a wedding present. I should say ‘we’ got it because my husband was actually the ‘photographer’ of us before we got together. So how the hell did I go from not ever using a camera to shooting weddings?! My bestie was getting married and asked if I could take their photos! EEK! Talk about ‘trusting’ me! I did though, and it was a lightening bolt of ‘I think I want to do this as my job’! I then dived into the deep end of course, classes, videos, and mentors to learn everything I needed to know!

And it has been an amazing ride. I have since expanding to ‘human’ photography I like to call it, photographing everything from weddings, to family sessions, maternity, newborn, and branding. So basically all your huge life moments where I get to jump into your story for a while and record all the love and amazing moments I see.

What’s my favorite part of my job you ask? You didn’t, but let’s throw it out there for fun! It’s after the hours of planning, styling, location scouting, messaging, coordinating, shooting, culling, and editing….it’s the moment I send you all your photos and you tell me you LOVE THEM! That fills my cup, okay it over flows my cup to bring that joy into your world. To give you all those memories you can keep forever shot in a way that makes you cherish them feels like an honor.

And that is why I do what I do.

Fun Things About Me:

I am an Enneagram 7: The Enthusiast! I love that I am a 7 and a photographer! I am definitely high-spirited, extroverted, and love being spontaneous and adventurous! Which makes shooting in new locations or trying a new creative shoot is my cup of tea!

This is super weird, but I like to drink hot/warm water. Like…I will fill up my 40 oz water bottle with hot water!

I’m a HARD no cilantro gal.

I change my hair style ALL the time!

I enjoy reading historical autobiographies/biographies.

I LOVE thrifting! Maybe I find a gem, maybe I don’t, but it 100% fills my cup if I’m in the need of some ‘me’ time.

And lastly, I grew up in a town of only 200-ish people and had a 6pm town whistle that blew everyday and that’s how I knew to come home for dinner when I was out with my friends. This is real life!

My Current Obsessions.

ALWAYS coffee with oat milk creamer, a great winter flannel, I’m trying to slow down on my TikTok scrolling LOL, I love me some great Netflix shows, and fuzzy socks (you can never have too many).

Let Me Answer Your Questions.

  • I have been a wedding photographer for the past six years! I studied photography in college. As for most, it started out as a hobby and I soon fell in love with it and realized being a photographer encapsulated everything I wanted out of a career. So I jumped in with both feet and never looked back!

  • Everything big moment is automatically a ‘MUST’ to capture. The whole day has a beautiful flow and I shoot a mix of candid and posed images. The family formals are always posed and then more candids are captured of family throughout the day. When is comes to the bridal party and do a small amount of posed and then I have a big pocket of prompts to create natural, fun, and connected images that are more emotive or high energy!

  • You bet! I’ve shot tons of weddings and know how to create a natural flow to your wedding day, how long certain photos take, and when you need breaks! When it comes to creating your timeline, we schedule a call or I can create drafts and send them over to you! If you have a wedding coordinator, I work with them as well to make sure nothing is overlooked!

  • We typically chat or meet prior to you booking to make sure we are a great fit and I’m offering everything you are looking for! Next we meet up to shoot your engagement session. With many texts in between to chat about location and outfits! Next, we schedule a chat the week of your wedding to go over final details, family dynamics, and anything else I need to know before your big day! Prior to this, I am here for you with any questions, timeline help, or anything else that comes up!

  • For your engagement session, photos take 2-3 weeks to be edited and emailed to you in an online gallery. For wedding photos, it take 8 weeks to edit and deliver your gallery.

  • My past clients have described me as joyful, comfortable to be around, professional, and bubbly! I’m and definitely an extrovert, which is really fun when getting on that dance floor to get the best shots of everyone having a blast! I also LOVE details and all things sentimental and really aim to get moments of connect and organic moments.

  • I like to chat at the beginning of the photography process because it gets me a chance to ‘meet’ you and chat about your vision or ideas for your session. We have a chance to connect and hear a real human voice. Our world today is so automated, I like to have all the real moments I can get!

  • My overall editing style is a true-to-color feel. With that being said, I do add a vintage or nostalgic flare to some photos using settings, items on my lens, or by adding grain to certain images. I edit outdoor images with all the color and drama I can pull into the photo to make it feel extra magical. Each session is different and no family or couple is the same. So I often edit to the feel and energy I had when I was there shooting too!

  • I help pick out and finding outfits for everyone in your family session! First and foremost, I always start with Mama! I have some dresses at my studio as part of my client closet that are available to wear for the session. We set up a date for you to come in and try them on after you’ve booked, if something works, BOOM!, you just save on not having to buy anything for your session! If not, if have several sites to recommend in all price ranges! Then I style and find outfits for the rest of the family too! Outfits vary on what kind of vibe you are going for during your session too! Playful and relaxed outfits would be totally different from emotive or intimate motherhood sessions.

  • Most sessions are 60 to 90 minutes. But lots of times newborn sessions can run longer depending on how the baby is doing, diaper changes, poop blow-outs (yep, anything can happen with babies!), or anything else that pops up with the unpredictabilities of newborns.

  • All your photos are delivered about 2 weeks after your session in an online gallery with a zip file! The zip file expires after 2 months, so I recommend downloading your images right after you get them. The gallery does stay with up and you can still download individual images from your gallery, and order prints, art work, and albums right from your gallery as well!

  • Why YES I do! Bundles are $850 total, but I break it all down! It’s a one time $195 deposit, $250 due the day of your maternity session (maternity sessions are 30-45 minutes), and $405 due at the newborn session.
