My Story to Capturing Your Story.

Black and white head shot

How the hell did it start?

So where did it all begin for me? I would like to say that I was given a camera at a young age and I have been taking photos my whole life, but that’s just not the case. I got my first camera as a wedding present. I should say ‘we’ got it because my husband was actually the ‘photographer’ of us before we got together. So how the hell did I go from not ever using a camera to shooting weddings?! My bestie was getting married and asked if I could take their photos! EEK! Talk about ‘trusting’ me! I did though, and it was a lightening bolt of ‘I think I want to do this as my job’! I then dived into the deep end of course, classes, videos, and mentors to learn everything I needed to know!

And it has been an amazing ride. I have since expanding to ‘human’ photography I like to call it, photographing everything from weddings, to family sessions, maternity, newborn, and branding. So basically all your huge life moments where I get to jump into your story for a while and record all the love and amazing moments I see.

What’s my favorite part of my job you ask? You didn’t, but let’s throw it out there for fun! It’s after the hours of planning, styling, location scouting, messaging, coordinating, shooting, culling, and editing….it’s the moment I send you all your photos and you tell me you LOVE THEM! That fills my cup, okay it over flows my cup to bring that joy into your world. To give you all those memories you can keep forever shot in a way that makes you cherish them feels like an honor.

And that is why I do what I do.

Fun Things About Me:

I am an Enneagram 7: The Enthusiast! I love that I am a 7 and a photographer! I am definitely high-spirited, extroverted, and love being spontaneous and adventurous! Which makes shooting in new locations or trying a new creative shoot is my cup of tea!

This is super weird, but I like to drink hot/warm water. Like…I will fill up my 40 oz water bottle with hot water!

I’m a HARD no cilantro gal.

I change my hair style ALL the time!

I enjoy reading historical autobiographies/biographies.

I LOVE thrifting! Maybe I find a gem, maybe I don’t, but it 100% fills my cup if I’m in the need of some ‘me’ time.

And lastly, I grew up in a town of only 200-ish people and had a 6pm town whistle that blew everyday and that’s how I knew to come home for dinner when I was out with my friends. This is real life!
